As we take time this month to stop and think about what our moms have done for us, it’s easy to relate to W.R. Wallace when he famously stated, “The hand that rocks the cradle is the hand that rules the world.”
Looking back, where would we be without our moms? The countless diaper changes, loads of dirty laundry, car rides, and relationship advice — none of these things would ever have happened without moms.
With that said, here are four creative ideas to help celebrate your mom and show her some extra love on this special holiday.
GATHER MEMORIES
Create a digital photo album that allows your mom to flip through family pictures in high-tech style. Or maybe she’d prefer something like a scrapbook that includes cherished notes and memorabilia or a coffee table book of photos.
CREATE AN E-GIFT
If you live away from home, this is an especially good idea. websites like fiverr.com let you send your mom a caricature from a photo, a personal video message, or even have someone sing and record a song with your lyrics for around $5.
DONATE IN HER NAME
If your mom insists on not getting her a gift, why not give to a charity in her name? Find an organization or cause to support and make a donation as your Mother’s Day gift to her.
CREATE A TOP 10 LIST
Creating a Top 10 list for your mom is an inexpensive and sentimental idea that she’ll love. A few list ideas include: “10 Reasons I Love My Mom,” “10 Reasons I Have the Best Mom In the World” or “My Top 10 Favorite Memories with Mom.”
All you have to do now is decide which gift your mom would like best. Turn on Boyz II Men’s “A Song for Mama,” and get started on making this Mother’s Day one your mom will never forget.
